LOL her expressions are just like us deafies use. Some of u haven't really seen nothing yet. Happyhands expression is mild compared to some deafies. lol I love her expressions, etc. Just like many deafies i know. Keep it up girl!! You doing what most deafies do. By the way, loved that joke. Never heard that one before. haha Poor daddy under the hay. ROFLLLL Hope he got him out in time. hahaha GOOD ONE!! LOL

@SignLanguageLaura Please don't prejudge me. I am going to school to be an ASL interpreter, and I hang out with Deaf people all the time.

I understand that facial expressions are a part of Deaf culture, and certain expressions (ie tongue sticking out) are connected to certain signs. I'm not disputing that.

As for sounds, I only meant that she makes a lot of sound for an interpreter. That's the part that would be distracting (to hearing clients). I think she's a fantastic storyteller, fyi.

The tongue...that's part of the sign. it's used to add emphasis. It's part of the language. Those who criticize it just don't understand.

@RebornReaperDOOM That's deaf culture. I see nothing wrong with her expressions and the clicks...if you guys spent more time with deaf people, you wouldn't have a problem with it.

I do it too. You can tell she learned her ASL from deaf people and not a textbook. ...CODA?

@RebornReaperDOOM Oh I didn't hear any of that. hahaha I was watching her lips like other deaf students would do. Yeah, it's a nice joke, and I want to see more of those kinds of jokes. Having said that, I want to correct her in some areas. Tone down her facial expressions and also control that tongue of hers because it's really disturbing for me, especially when I'm reading her lips. Sorry I have to say this, but it's better to care and be honest than lying to someone...

@watching656 Having re-watched this, I have to agree with you. It's a little over-the-top.

I also noticed that she's a bit of a "noisy signer." Lots of clicks, and snaps, and claps... I didn't notice the first time, because I'd had the volume turned down. That is even more distracting to me.

@RebornReaperDOOM But it's too much. I'm deaf, and I know which is good and bad. I don't do this at all. It's just that she needs to relax and be natural with her expressions.
