  • Hi! She told me it had been shown to help it go away and stay gone in studies. So far, she has been right (knock on wood). She did not go into detail on the why, but there is a ton of resources online if you google: zinc and dermatitis. Also, I stopped taking it after I ran out, & it started coming back so I believe in the connection.

  • There are new "natural" products out by Johnson and Johnson. Ive been using the baby body wash on my face since it is has no dyes, allergens, or fragrances in it. It seems to help. Also, how many mg is the zinc that your doctor recommended? Thank you so much for these tips. Im going to start treatment tonight.

  • @areYouSerious41 No problem!! I hope they help! :) Zinc is usually standardized if you buy it at the grocery store or walmart, but the one I am using is 50 mg. I take it morning and afternoon. Good luck! I hope you get it gone soon--your dermatologist will probably give you a cream and antibiotic as well. make sure to drink a lot of water on the antibiotics because they dry your skin out to clear up the dermatitis.

  • @SoreyFitness Just got back from the store. I bought 30mg zinc pills. The directions say take once a day. Should I take it twice? I also got the yogurt and coconut oil. Im about to start the treatment. THANK YOU lol, i cant say that enough!

  • @areYouSerious41 I'm so happy to help! Start with just one a day and then after talking to your dermatologist you could maybe up it. My doctor is into both traditional and holistic medicine (she is certified MD just very researched) so she may be more open to it than other dermatologists. Good luck! I hope it clears very soon!

  • No problem! I hope it clears soon! If it doesn't, especially after trying zinc, I recommend seeing your dermatologist. They can give you an antibiotic and/or cream. :)

  • hi, what did your doctor say zinc would do for the perioral derm? did they go into detail?

  • @SoreyFitness I like doctors that are into natural cure for some things. I think there are so many people on unnecessary meds that are making them more sick than they realize.

  • Hi, I got my PD back as I have a cold and all the nose-sneezing appareantly triggered it round my nose. Thanks for sharing your vid.
