Is this done in concert with the YI Jin Jing? Are they both morning "warm-ups". Try copying his movements every day for a month and one soon appreciates what he makes look easy. Right down to the wrist joints (90 degrees back, ouch!), totally flexible, but with strength. Saw Shi De Yang in a documentary in the 90's. Truly an excellent example of the Shaolin Arts.
When I was 20 years old I developed osteoarthritis in the right knee; some friends told me Baduanjin. Before that, I couldn't even go up a stairway, the leg excercises gave me back full mobility. I still have sequels, but Baduanjin worked just fine!
Master Shi De Yangs disciple Olly Rennon teaches in Plympton, Plymouth. The master himself is coming over soon. :-)
