Do you need a license to do magic in New York City with a hat out for money?

@DazzlingDoudini Not sure. You should get the number of your local police station (not 911) and ask them what kind of restrictions they have on street performers.

Hey criss what would be a good place for a 14 year old like me to preform. Dont worry I am used to performing In birth day party's but I don't make enough. Any pointers?

@followmyhands If your goal is to make money, go to where the most tourism is in your area. The more fresh foot traffic you can find, the better your chances are of making some money. I don't know what the area you live in is like, but at 14 it might be a good idea to have an adult around for security reasons. I'd try and find a location that has something fun for one of your parents to do while you perform, just to keep them close by.

@followmyhands Another good idea to make money and get gigs is to find a restaurant that will allow you to do magic once a week. This is a good way for the restaurant to bring in more family business and a fantastic way for you to make money with tips and by passing out your business cards.

Hey Chris, what are your thoughts about renting a space at a Swap Meet and Flea Markets to perform? Yes you have to pay but it's in a place w/ a lot of people, foot traffic and they are there to spend money. Thoughts?

@TheMindofRobert That would work really well. I used to perform at an art walk, the only problems I found were that the spaces were expensive, the vendors were territorial and there were a lot of rules to performing there. I think a Swap Meet type event would be great.
