  • @muckyfrigger - What makes me laugh is there are people close ot McMahon who say that he has spent so many years pushing the "hero" because he believes that ultimately the audiences want an out and out hero, so he's pushed Cena something awful, even to the detriment of the wrestling business and the intelligence of the mature audiences. What McMahon has never been able to grasp is that he already had/still has his out and out Hero that the audiences love no matter what, and that's The Rock.

  • @muckyfrigger As for The Rock and his probably putting over Cena. It would be the biggest mistake The Rock has ever agreed to do. Cena's already had the torch passed to him by SCSA at SCSA's HOF induction. Shouldn;t've happened then and it shouldn't happen with The Rock. Cena's time as a top superstar is done, he's had his run and it should be time for someone else - I would have no problem if The Rock was to put over CM Punk..

  • @muckyfrigger I can understand Bret being pissed about it, he'd had the biggest money earning spot taken from him by someone he wasn't particularly fond of anyway - but when it all comes downs to it McMahon could have said something like, no lets think of a better way to pass the belt to you (Hogan) - same with the MSJ - tho' I feel more sorry for Bret over this incident than the MSJ.

  • @muckyfrigger - What should be understood is McMahon was/still is first and foremost a businessman, there to make money. He would not take the title from one wrestler if he was drawing big and put it on another wrestler if he did not think the second wrestler was the bigger draw. Sure, behind the scenes Hogan may have held McMahon to ransom by saying he would not come back to the WWF unless he had the title on him, but McMahon agreed to it.

  • @IDIOTdella Oh I aren't denying Hogan was a draw, only a fool would deny Hulkamanias success, but I am definitely sticking by my guns about the incident about Bret having to hand the title to Hogan because Hogan must have the title to keep everyone else down.

I will gladly say the same about The Rock if they put him over Cena and I don't like Cena particularly, I am hoping Rock does for Cena what Hogan did for the Rock and takes a clean loss, that I did respect Hogan for.

  • @muckyfrigger (cont'd) ...Without it being a lie...

  • @muckyfrigger - Hogan at the time WAS the main event, period and as for Hogan not passing the torch, he did a fair few times, and he put people over as well. Am I a Hulkamaniac? Not on your life. Am I fan of Hogan? Not of his wrestling, in Japan or in the WWF, but I did and still do enjoy the fun he brought to the ring. The thing is, no matter how much you might dislike Hogan for his backstage politicking and self-preservation, there are some things you just can't deny...

  • @muckyfrigger - Bret had and still has ego issues, period. But anyway, no matter what backstage politching Hogan did and still does, there is no denying he was a massive draw when Hulkamania hit - and it still draws to this day. No-one, not even the self appointed high and mighty Bret Hart could ever outdraw him. As for in-ring skills, Hogan didn't need to put on a wrestling show after Hulkamania he just needed to turn up and that's what he did. He had fun and kept the crowds happy

  • @AlcoholicMB WrestleMania 9 was when I realised that I was justified in my thoughts that Hogan didn't sit right with me, this is an age before internet smarts where everything was pretty much still kayfabe, Bret has ego issues NOW but at the time Hogan just had zero intention on passing the torch, where Hogan goes, he IS the main event in his own mind and everyone else is an afterthought.

He was a major player but he acts like he was the first and only draw for wrestling.

  • @LordValor001 A hater? Of Hogan? Yes, I am. He's an egotistical prick who put himself above everyone he's ever worked with. Scores and scores of wrestlers have stated as such, time and time again. Oh and nice Cena vomit you spewed at me. Anonymous insults are thrown by those who have no argument. Next, please.
