The Pregnancy Pact Part 2

Inspired by a true story, the film explores the costs of teen pregnancy with a story of a fictional "pregnancy pact" set against the backdrop of actual news reports about teen pregnancy from June 2008. Sidney Bloom (Thora Birch), an online magazine journalist, returns to her hometown to investigate the sudden spike in teenage pregnancies at her old high school. Almost immediately, she comes up against Lorraine Dougan (Nancy Travis), the head of the local conservative values group and mother of Sara, a newly pregnant 15-year-old. Meanwhile, the school nurse (Camryn Manheim) tries to convince the school to provide contraception to students to address the pregnancy epidemic but is met with great opposition from the school and community. As the number of pregnant girls climbs to 18, a media firestorm erupts when Time Magazine reports that the rise in the number of pregnancies at the school is the result of a "pregnancy pact." As the mystery unfolds about whether or not "the pact" is real, Sidney soon realizes that all of the attention is disguising the much larger issues that are at the core of the story.

I hate the fact that girls want to get pregnant and have a baby so early. I'm 14, with a dream of being a doctor. I would love to fulfill my dream, so im trying as hard as i can to keep out of messes like those. Its not really hard, just stay focused and you can have all the time in the world to get pregnant and married after ur dreams are fulfilled.. :)

i like how sara's so in tune to tying jesse down and thinking that a baby's gonna make sure that he stays. she has friends who don't even have dads! she says she loves him but little does she know that what she's doing is far from loving him. if she really loved him, she'd let him live his dreams and leave the small town. he's even said that he doesn't wanna be there.

The stupidity of teenagers is flooring... I know way too many girls that this is all too much of a reality for. Children having children is like the blind leading the blind, and while it may not be entirely the teenager's fault, it's absolutely their responsibility.

Abstinence programs, lol. They're going to have sex, people! the're going to have sex. I go to school and I hear these things. the difference is, with abstinence programs, girls don't know how NOT to get pregnant because all they hear is "DON'T DO IT". but if you give them contraceptives, you acknowledge what they already know (they're doing it) but you give them a way to do it safely. Why don't people see this?

Why do they wanna ruin their lives they realise they can't go to collage now and they'll end up living off benifits in cheap flat maybe on drugs and end up in jail or having their baby taken away

I don't know about them but why would you ruin your life at such a young age? I'm 13 and I have plans for the future I'm not gonna ruin my life even if a guy dies anything for me. Like this if you agree. I know there are thousands of teenagers out there trying to get pregnant or already are.. My parents would love me still even if I did that but they would be very disappointed in me..
