This is the first music video for musician Ryan Bisio. It is an adaptation of Dostoyevsky's classic novel 'Crime and Punishment', set in an alternative reality akin to our Depression Era. Just as in the novel, the song explores the depths of a man's rationalization of taking the life of another human being, no matter how odious.

'The Pawnbroker' is the second video filmed for 'Shades of America', a new movement which explores the deteriorating system through music.
