These three Alco RS3's were originally Delaware & Hudson units in their original paint scheme before the lightning stripe version . Acquired by the Dl.

what kind of horn is that?

Nathan M3RT1. This was a special version of the standard Nathan M3 that had the rear facing bell tilted upward and the end of the bell flattened out to clear the roofline of an RS-3. Many roads that had RS-3's used this horn, and they are now highly sought after because of their relative rarity.

love the way the rails r not all fenced in, must be a few accidents?
we have to wear high vis vests etc.

Many US roads require vests for employees.
Sounds like you are from the UK, where fencing or hedgerows were a requirement when most lines were built, because the country was more "occupied" by farms and etc. That is why British steam didn't have "cowcatchers" the way US power did. Fencing is becoming more common, but the cost to install it along the entire US rail network would be astronomical, and nobody is ready to step up and foot the bill.
