ok my iphone 3g has a white screen and my sleep/lock button is broke and it does not do anything but white screen it doesnt turn off it wont like and i tried the sleep/lock and home button thing but it did not work

A true white screen of death is caused by the LCD screen being disconnected. simply resetting will not work in all cases.
