My brother's new Tomos. It is a fun moped but slower than most - nothing a pipe, filter, and rejet can't fix.

The speedometer has stopped working already so the milage is closer to 70.

If you listen closely you can hear it stuttering at first at full throttle, typical behavior until the engine is hot.

  • @louiearmstrong Dude, 500 miles. Thats's nothing compared to mine 2600 miles. and mine just ride fine. maybe the quality in the US is very bad. The Tomos bikes are made in Europe. But I can't imagine why many of your are broken. Every time I know something is broke i fix it immediately, also because we can get a ticket for thing that don't work. So if your speedometer dos not work properly, you can get a ticket. If you have any further questions, you can ask.

  • @housemusicfire Our laws are very loose, so I've just been kickstarting. the turn signals and healdight work, just no electric start... as for the speedo, everywhere I ride is 30+ so I cannot break the speed limit. Getting pulled over on a moped is unheard of here! I do recommend using LocTite on all the bolts to keep them secure if you get a new one, because the vibrations are pretty bad

  • i've the same in holland. it's a pretty good motorcycle. The thing you need to change is the chain, it hangs. And if you want to drive it faster you can buy a "Techno" exhaust and take a smaller rear sprocket. Mine sprocket ratio is 26 teeth on the front and 28 on the rear. The sprocket and exhaust are very cheap and they're not very hard to get. hope i helped. (sorry for bad English).

  • @housemusicfire You write good English. The chain is now very loose (at 500 miles?), the speedometer has stopped working, the electrical system is not working, and one of the exhaust studs broke when I hit a bump (I fixed the exhaust using cheap parts from a hardware store). Tomos build quality is not as good as I remember from my friend's older A35 TT-LX... it is a good bike but lots of vibrations! I recommend lots of LocTite or all the plastic things will start to fall off :)

  • I've always liked the looks of the revival.....do these only come in blue? it's the only color I ever see.

  • @thescooterdewd There are promotional photos of a red/burgundy one, but they are either super rare or were never produced... Ive never seen one.
