having read abt what you guys said reminds me of my experience as a tourist in america, i was in an elevator and one american girl mocked at me by shouting "chink chank chank" and laughing. i wasnt aware of the fact that some americans might be hostile towards chinese people at that time and i just thought shes just being frdly...my aunt from singapore went to an american restaurant and asked to have a glass of "plain water" and was being insulted right away becux she didnt use the right word
