I just did this, and while it did not take me long, fortunately, I have to say you bomb jump like a pro. I should try that diagonal thing you do...

The first time I played zero mission I did this. I was too stubborn to come back later and spent far too long trying to bomb jump up there.

@TarozJallim Really? I get early super missiles in brinstar all the time, and this problem does not occur.

@mexibeast227 Same, that was insane and took too long, but i was trying to do it to avoid getting the high jump. (trying 9% run wish me luck! ...Or 10%)

I did it the hard way. I froze the flying aliens and used them as stairs

I got super missiles earlier. But that's a bug, if you get the super missles from Brinstar(morph ball with speed booster), then, if you get the "first" super missile in Ridley, you'll get stuck after killing the giant fly, and the gray door will not glow, so it will not open.

I've become a master at bomb jumping and i got the Varia suit early but i needed the power grip... >:O

@strongbadman2 If you go too far into Kraid's lair without the grip, you WILL get trapped (there's even a save point that you can't leave from too). This is because of that boss that requires you to be gripping the dolly before it shows up > _<
