Megan's POV

When Joe dropped me off I waved goodbye and walked up the steps to my front door, I opened it with the key my aunt gave me this morning. Once I was in the house I closed the door behind me and ran up to my room, determined not to let my aunt see that I was about to cry. I didn't just like Nick, I loved him, and he had no idea how I felt, he doesn't feel the same way and it hurts. I collapse onto my bed and cry silently into my pillow. After a few minutes I'm sure it's safe to say that I'm not going to have one of those loud, sobbing fits. I'm controlling it so only the tears come, nothing else. I sit up and let them fall. I look around my room and my eyes land on my guitar case. DAMN! I have to write a song for Brown's class! I grab my guitar out of the case and while away some of the tears so they don't stain my notebook. I leave open and start strumming slowly, it sounds good, kind of soothing, just what I need right now. A lyric pops into my head and I grab my pencil to write it down without another thought.

Nick looks at me, I fake a smile so he wont see

I look it over and realise the name I wrote and immediately erase it, there is no way I could sing it with Nick's name in it. I replace it with Drew, a random name that came to mind first. I strum the chord again and sing the first 2 lines, then another lyric comes, and another, and they keep coming until I have a whole song. Every time I wrote Nick, I replaced it with Drew and I was pretty satisfied when I looked it over I was pretty satisfied with the result. I suddenly had the urge to sit on my little "balcony" as I called it, it was the roof of the back porch that was conveniently under my window. I opened my window and climbed through, then I grabbed my guitar. I sat with my back leaning against the side of the house, just under my window and started playing.

I closed my eyes, still crying and rested my head against the side of the house. If only Nick knew how I felt about him.
