  • I'd have to agree. There's no innovation, only imitation, and what's imitated is even done poorly and heavily-handed. We're being forced to pump tax money into a dead horse, which just ends up in the government's pocket anyway. How ironic? Both identities used the old "green" trick to win the keys to peoples' piggy banks.

  • Until Bob Lutz is fired I will never buy another GM vehicle. The same guy who has admitted that the Volt is primarily a publicity tool. These old farts need to move on and some 20 year olds should run GM, this way GM actually changes something. If I were in charge I would change the entire company name to Electric Automotive and start producing only hybrids and electrics, They would lose money for 5 years but the rewards in 10 will be immeasurable.

  • The Volt is an hybrid car, and can only drive on electric for a short distance. NOT a real electric car.

  • People think that electric vehicules are slow and limited in range like golf kart but they're not ... wikipedia : Before the pre-eminence of internal combustion engines, electric automobiles held many speed and distance records. Among the most notable of these records was the breaking of the 100 km/h (62 mph) speed barrier, by Camille Jenatzy on April 29, 1899 in his 'rocket-shaped' vehicle Jamais Contente, which reached a top speed of 105.88 km/h (65.79 mph).

search for Electric_car on WIKI ;)

  • Someting is missing here between the steam car (1769) and the first gasoline car (1885) !!! ->In November 1881, French inventor Gustave Trouvé demonstrated a working three-wheeled automobile powered by electricity at the International Exposition of Electricity, Paris.

  • @Halo2100 me 2. HOPE VOLT FAILS AND GM CRUMBLE INTO IT GRAVE

  • its not electric. ITS A (HYBRID) BETTER VERSION OF A PRIUS watch?v=0yFg0mUaM94&feature=related

  • Well, you need to get the wording correct. This is no longer an electric car, or a "series hybrid." It is now a parallel hybrid with a direct connection between the gas engine and the drivetrain. So now it is a glorified Prius, I already have a PHEV Prius and will never pay $50,000 to purchase one.

  • This still doesn't appeal to me. Show me that this car is better than anything else out there. Show me the total cost of ownership over 20 years. Show me some cool stunt "performed by a professional driver on a closed course." Show me what else is in the pipeline.

  • Had Tucker by not been stopped by this pathetic company they would mopping the floor with all the automotive names. I got no sympathy for GM nor any interest in any of the new cars. They have the technology they just refuse to use it. Plus GM had built the EV-1 10 years ago and it could get 120 miles per charge and the volt only gets 40? Are you kidding me GM. I would like GM fail and be taken over.

  • 3:40 of a clunky PowerPoint presentation using every single transition animation set to bad techno?

    Really?
