Even at a remove of 65 years, it still gives me cold chills when I think of the heroism and sacrifice of those men during those six dreadful years! God bless the Royal Navy!

My grandfather served in the US Navy in WWII and was in Japan for their surrender. I am very proud if him and he is still alive today at age 95. I also served 6 years of easy duty from 1982-1988. Not enough can be said of that generations contributions to the freedoms that most take for granted today. Bless You All!

@bv141a No capital ships? I think nuclear submarines count as the modern day equivalent of capital ships.

the world is lucky we had the royal navy and all of the british armed services in those very critical war years, the world would be a very different place without them. the royal navy and the british army stood along for nearly two years

Stop correcting this documentary, if you are British, don' correct it, be proud to be the same nationality of this heroes, best navy in the world.
