"If you want to feel alright,
Just ask the Rock and Roll Dr.'s advice."

from what I remember, recorded for the BBC "old grey whistle test" programme, during a cameraman strikem which meant is was recorded really early one morning, hence the slow groove

Thanks for the info. Yes I guess this is a real autobiographical song for Lowell. For me, the song starts off in da groove after 1 bar....and this just gets progressively deeper and funkier as the song goes on....simply understated back-beat genius!! "I say he can't be beat, ya'll!!"

From first strum to last hum, this clip is musical gold.... what a back-beat groove....no band could groove like this one! Lowell George's permature departure was a major loss...long live Lowell!

The version on Hoy Hoy is brilliant and they found the master in a bag in Lowell's garage! I read in Lowell's biography [called, coincidentally, "Rock & Roll Doctor"] that he wrote it in bits and sent various tapes to Bill Payne, who then gave it to the rest of the band, which might explain why it's got so many odd bars. It's a perfect example of the 'cracked mosaic' Lowell described his songwriting style as. It shouldn't work, but it does.
