  • Great overall sound. My only criticism is that the brass section was unbalanced, but not the fault of the musicians i.e. only two trombones and four trumpets. At least one more t-bone and it would have had a little more "body". Two more Bones would have been really dramatic(and powerful)in parts of this great jazz arrangement. Let me emphasize that this is NOT the fault of the musicians.

Otherwise, great work guys and gals. This is a difficult piece that's usually only tackled by professionals.

  • Thank you for this very constructive comment. I wish more criticism was phrased in this way on YouTube... most people are just assholes about everything.

  • Ohh I love this song. I've always wanted to play this on clarinet, but the band director doesn't like clarinets in jazz band.

    yay clarinetist!

  • For big band music, I agree, clarinets can be awkward and not have a place. For swing music though (like this), clarinets were very common. Pay attention to the style of music you're performing.

Another thing you might want to try is asking if you can play clarinet during a solo break in a swing piece. He may be more happy to let you do that.

  • i loved it, i will be telling my jazz band directer to get swing swing, tomorow

  • Thanks for watching :)

  • The chorus sounds like the movie ratatouille. But that's just me.

  • Alright. That bassist is AWESOME! I love how he dances too :]

  • Stand up bass is fantastic!

  • love that bass player

  • trumpet gets a little out of tempo at the begginning.. but overall it was GREAT!!! 5 stars!!

  • hey i had a question. my band director is letting me play the clarinet solo but we can't find the music. by any chance can you tell me the notes or where to find the music? much thanks.

  • the first sax notes should be slur-slur-tut.

not all slured. the trumpets are kinda drowning out the two trombones. drummer could do a little better

  • greg is the best...

  • i agree with dale. the trumpet sort of overwhelms you and the other instruments cant be heard on the same level. and this being an ensemble type thing it should be all the instruments working together to bring a marvelous sound, in this case it was slightly unbalanced. other than that great job. very skillful musicians

  • awsome! could use more trombone less tumpet
