When I first came across this song it was the video of Willie Nelson's cover.... such a creative video (a must see)... and I thought to myself "Willie - you are a GENIUS" upon learning and researching I discovered Dave Matthews was the genius behind the song. It's from his debut solo Album, Some Devil, which was released in 2003.
When I sing the verse of Muriel Stonewall losing her sons in WWII "you should never have to watch your only children lowered in the ground, I mean, you should never have to bury your own babies" I am goosebumps head to toe..

  • @DutchWhizzMan - where you gettin' your info Dutch? I got mine off of Wikipedia.... Willie Nelson's version is from his album Moment of Forever, featuring almost all cover songs.

  • Ehm, no, it was written by Willie Nelson and Dave covered it.
