Starcraft Glitch: Mine from Anywhere

While worker units are headed to mine a patch of minerals, recalling them to a position over water(which the game does not allow) will result in them mining the patch from where they stand. Similarly, the glitch also works for returning resources, and mining gas as well.

I have no idea or possible explanations for the workings of this glitch, but I know that is is a common component of several glitches.

Running Starcraft patch 1.15.
