@bossofalltime Well said. Enjoy the world championships this year.

@BreuckelensFinest I meant in this semi-final race if he had run the home straight without easing up - absolutely he complimented himself in both events. Brought the largest speed reserve ever seen at the time to the 400m with his 200m speed, and brought the best speed endurance ever seen to the 200m
-
@bossofalltime Well MJ did say, both the 200m & the 400m complimented each other & helped him run faster in both events. So who really knows!?

@Sdelosinfiernos Yes, Merritt was tested positive for DHEA and has a 2 year ban.
-
@phastman1994 Yes, u are right... By de way, i saw you comment in the video of Universal that you say that Lashawn Merrit Was positive in the test of steroids, is that true? Regarts from Venezuela :-)...!

@Sdelosinfiernos Yeah he inspires me too, but he would have been far past his peak if he was still training. Most sprinters reach there peak in there late 20s to early 30s..
He wouldn't have gone sub43, to be honest I doubt he'd have gone faster than about 43.3, his 300m split was very high31 (31.8-31.9), not fast enough to enable sub43. He usually ran 300-400m section in 11.5 when firing on all cylinders which would mean he'd be 43.3 all out in this race, he made it look easier than it was. NOW, if MJ had concentrated fully on the 400m in 1996 he certainly would've given 43.00 a legit shot

@bossofalltime agreed, MJ's 300m split was .3-.4s faster in the final so a sub 43 would be pretty unlikely, but I still think he could've caught Reynolds' 43.29 in this semi if he didn't shut down.
