For detailed information on this product visit http://www.tailgatingideas.com/firewire/. These are stainless steel flexible wire skewers designed for grilling shish kabobs. The ends are designed to stay cool while the food cooks on the sire. Pick up the ends with your bare hands and turn the food. Ideal of tailgating because you can marinate in the bag on your way to a tailgate party.

  • People are so worried about contamination! Just put the ends on the fire for a short period and then let them hang and cool.

  • A few of problems:

    1) With the firewires I would have to take all the food off of them before people can eat. With bamboo skewers people can grab the skewers as they come off the grill.

    2) The part you're grabbing with your bare hands to turn the firewires has just had a bunch of raw meat/chicken slid over it. I'd prefer to use the tongs.

    3) If your grill has uneven heating, parts of your fire wire are going to finish before the rest. I can take off the bamboo skewers as they finish.

  • Great way to poison everyone that eats off of these skewers!

  • its dishwasher safe

  • My issue would be with the cable that composes the skewer getting filled with burnt food and bacteria. How would you clean it?

  • How do you keep from contaminating the cooked food when you take it off the skewer?
