The guide had a whistle to attract them and they just came out instantly and were greedy to eat. It is banana yes.

thats amazing! i visited death valley and there were a ton of lizards like those and they would flee at the sight of movement. you mustve been there a while waiting!! my bearded dragon likes banana a little bit.

The guide that trained them comes by there a couple of days a week and trained them over a long period of time. He'd do a special whistle and they'd know we were there, hurrying towards the feeding grounds. They are jumpy when you're close though.

The reason why so many animals are threatened in the world is because of others 'entertainment' and human involvement. The guide 'trains' them so he can pinch your cash. Long after this person has left with your cash the Lacertidae die as they become dependent on humans. As long as you have a good time though ey?

We already payed without any mentioning of feeding lizards or advertising of special experiences, so as a money pinching trick it just doesn't work.
The guide showed, and taught, great respect for the natural environment that we were passing through.
I don't believe for a second that those lizards depend on snacktime twice a week for their survival.
I think you're jumping to conclusions too early; not all animal-human interaction is bad for the animals, it can be beneficial for both parties.
