As usual Gould ignores the score .... any edition. He is prone to adding or subtracting ornaments, playing detache where legato would be assumed and tossing in gratuitous rubatos. But he has two arguments in his favor ... the fact that Baroque music was very tolerant of the performer's whims ... trills and flourishes were added at will. The original scores had very few dynamic indications. And Gould is Gould. I think he's sometimes playing with his audience. Deliberately.provocative.

Bach... What a revolutionary!
This Invention #6 simply shakes the CNS {Central Nervous System}; the sheer genius of JS Bach & the absolute mastery of Glenn Gould combine to give us not only a 'miracle moment', but allows us to thanks God that we were privileged to live 'after' both of these masters &, thus, be afforded the awesome opportunity to participate in the hearing of such perfection.

Heartbear Perfection!! He makes me want to go my piano right now and play and practice until I hopefully get almost as good as him. Gould hearing perfection and mastery. Bach pure genius.
