  • @Huddelicious So, is an i5 2500K suffecient enough or should I go with an i7?

  • @labpoe To render you would need a good CPU. And while you are using the program a good GPU will help out. Even tho the CPU is the most important.

  • I have a question... Does maya need a powerful processor or a powerful GPU?

  • @n8skow There is alternatively the method of simming your thin mesh, then extrude the flag to your desired thickness. If you know what your cloth thickness is going to be before simming, you can set the collision distance on the cloth sim to account for it.

  • @lemi667 You may also want to sim on a lower poly object and use that as a wrap deformer on your high poly object under Animation/create deformers/wrap...: )

  • @lemi667 I am not sure without a peak, but you may have the normals of your object set to hard. Try selecting all your edges on the mesh, go to the polygon menu set, goto normals menu item and pull down to soften edges. Lemme know!
