Al Gore donates any money he earns from his books and lectures on ecology/environment to non-profit organizations--such as those that want to help our planet. Only the uninformed and stupid think otherwise.

@SustainableWorld - Thank you for uploading this video to YouTube back on 11/23/08. Almost 4 years later this information is still very valuable in our present day. A video such as this makes me wanna move to a place where there would be more freedom to create the solutions that Permaculture can provide through Water Harvesting. With that said, I will be re-sharing this video on Google+ to gather more viewers and start some key conversations around the globe. Happy New Year in return.

The unfortunate part about this is that there are many states, cities and the like that have made rainwater harvesting illegal.

@ikambor Well, you know creating more spaces, that is a direct result of rainwater catchment and harvesting will actually help to reduce carbon in the atmosphere and help reduce global warming. So, yes we should do this, but also know that it does affect the planet. Also, I've gotten pink-eye from just swimming in natural lakes, so you gotta be careful about drinking from them.

This video gives a very lucid and delightful explanation of why it is imperative that we begin rainwater catchment. Excellent!

Thanks Mr. Lancaster. I love and use your book.

@AndrewKFletcher. You have to be able to think that it was not our fault if we caused global warming, we did not know enough not to do it and then it is easy to accept that it might be true and do something about it. if we suddenly stopped using petrol we would die. We can stop gradually now though because we have the other types of power. You need to believe in global warming then we can stop it, if you dont it means worsening it, you have to believe in it just in case its true. rose macaskie.

Brad Lancaster, there is just one thing you don't mention, what I always hear about trees here in Spain is that they bring rain. I dont know how but i imagine they increase the humidity in the air making it more likely that a bit of cold brings the humidity in the air to condensation point and also that they cool the air also making it more likely that the humidity in it gets to condensation point and they reduce evaporation shading the earth, and their leaf fall covering it. rose macaskie.

kyojin toshimine, modern countries that were rich and sucessfull were constructed on having a welfare state on educating your poor to a high level for example and stopping the rich getting too rich preventing the situation in which you have a few rich and the rest poor, having a big middle class is part of being a modern country. More highly educated people the more likely it is you have more people starting businesses, which is better for the country. rose macaskie.
Everyone should take notes on this,,, Forget Al Gore's Bull Crap about global warming and the billions those people want to spend,, This is the kind of thing we need to consider first,, because we can see that water shortage is a more pressing and immediate concern,, we can look at climate change later,, and see what is real and what is fake and just lines Al Gore and friends pockets

@ikambor I would have to agree 100% with this. People too often overlook their own impact. They are typically focused on changing everyone around them. They think 'if everyone would just realize what I'm trying to say we could fix this problem.' Meanwhile they just continue living as the other 95% of those contributing to the problem.
