I got a speeding ticket because of this song...

Thanks for posting this. To me, it's the best score and scene in the entire movie. Brings back memories.

Sounds a lot like Prokofiev's "The Battle on the Ice" from Alexander Nevsky, as do other parts of this score.

Hans zimmer disliked this

this piece is better than anything hans zimmer composed in either batman begins or the dark knight

@Blitzbok star wars fan? how do you figure that out numb nuts? The funny thing is, returns is actually my absolute favourite batman film behind the dark knight, but therein lies my point, I'm capable of enjoy two completely different films, with different styles of filming, visuals and acting. The only thing that connects them both is a man in a rubber suit. Batman returns has always been a terrible bat-film, but a great german expressionist callback. Sorry there was no debate to begin with son.

@gooched No, certain things are fact Star Wars fan. The acting in the later movies is shamblic. Returns in the pinnacle of the Batman franchise. It exudes the mood, atmosphere, presence, style better than any other Batman movie. The cast is the strongest, the scripting the best. That essentialy ends the debate.

epic music
I like both Burton's Batman films and Nolan's as well, but I DO like Elfman's score better.
That said, this theme I LOVE and I've been looking everywhere for this track, all I seem to find is just the intro theme and Catwoman's theme from "Returns" which is also awesome, but this is my favorite. The title is perfect, the buildup or 'descent' into a feeling of mystery is what makes this track so great.
Thank you for the upload.

@opus289 The bassline from 0:31 to 0:39 is awesome... just a few notes, but awesome...
