Movie : Ardh Satya Year : 1982 Director : Govind Nihalani Cast : Om Puri , Amrish Puri, Smita Patil, Naseeruddin Shah National Award : Best Actor - Om Puri
@maxmoon2006 : Killing the man should not be seen in the literal sense. It is actually triggered due to the frustration imposed on him due to the beaurocratic society. Police are afterall human and are not immune to the feelings and with the power in hands their frustration comes out in a much tougher manner and always it is the innocents that are victims...in this case things happend inadvertently and in most cases it is the situations which have to be blamed.
@saccyind i don't see what has Om Puri characters in two movies has to do with comparison between the movies.. both movies were good and Om Puri portrayed the characters excellently in both the movies
Om puri has put his heart and soul in this role.one of the finest actors ever.rightly deserved the national award that year.and smita patil's amazing.the kind of sensibility and maturity she brings to the character of jyotsna is brilliant.i wish for a companion like jyotsna..
By killing the man, Om Puri takes revenge for what was done to him in Aakrosh. He was victimized by the police then, because he was a poor man. Now, he is a police officer himself, and has the power. Unfortunately, the end result is the same: he has committed a murder...
@saccyind
May be that's ur opinion but nasseruddin himself believes arhdastaya to be better...search this and watch urself

in AKKROSH ON PURI WAS A VICTIM.
BUT IN ARDH STAYA HE IS COMPLETELY EVIL HE BRUTALLY TOTURES AND KILLS A MAN JUST FOR STEALING A SMALL RADIO.
THIS IS EVIL.
AS A FILM AAKROSH WAS FAR BETTER THAN ARDHSTAYA.
AAKROSH IS STILL THE BEST WORK OF NASEERUDDIN SHAH EVER EVER.
