@wpat007 Why did you have to have your spleen removed?
-
You can avoid nasty bloodletting by simply taking a metal chelating pill called desferal (aka deferoxamine, desferrioxamine B, desferoxamine B, DFO-B, DFOA, DFB) developed in Iran in 2009.
Google it. Wikipedia has nice info on it.
They claim it also chelates aluminum. I've never tried it. It's new, and must be prescribed & not found on ebay.
Anyone know tips/foods to get the body to flush out iron (more naturally)?

Great info, most Americans already have too much iron AND vitamin C, and calcium, acid and protein - all touted as health supplements! Apples have a low iron content and vitamin c levels (for a fruit) hence the saying an apple a day keeps doc away. Iceberg lettuce is also good.

i have no idea. As far as spleen pain goes i wouldn't know, i don't have one.

Can hemachromatosis cause changes in your hematocrit and hemoglobin and RBC slightly? Can it cause spleen pain?

i'm no doctor so i could not say. I wouldn't take the drugs myself. How old are you?
