I was introduced to this in college choir in the late 60's. It has remained in my musical memory for 40 years. I hear it often in my mind. It is, in my opinion, one of the finest modern praise musical pieces as great as Handel's. Thank you for posting this.

Learning this one for the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday . Having a hard time trying to follow the alto line cuz I'm an alto and trying to follow this w\ the music that I have and follow it w\ the other parts going on and I sing alto being the secondest youngest in my choir and the youngest in the alto section who knows parts well enough .

The last word (and only other word) in this piece is "amen"

MrDaniel- Alleluia is the only text for this piece. It is a glorious and moving anthem, one of my all-time favorites. I hope you have the opportunity to sing/hear it live someday.

What a great performance of a great piece. I don't think I caught it all, though. What words came after "Alleluia?"

I believe this is the best performance of this song I have ever listened to. I performed this song once, and let me tell you, it was difficult. But absolutely worth it for a tenor :P

magnificent!! thanks for posting!!
Yes it is, used this version for practice. We did this for the 2011 Christmas Eve Concert. Even if you get it just a bit right, it sounds great. I would imagine myself navigating the sky while singing. Going up, down and through the clouds, singin Alleluia. I am soprano :D
