Some service calls really are this easy. This was what I refer to as a 'nuisance call'. Same goes for the ones where the service disconnect is in the off position or the breaker is not turned on. Some customers actually have to be told to set the thermostat to the 'cool' position and lower the temperature setting. "No, ma'am. The thermostat doesn't know you're sweating and automatically turn on the air conditioning for you".

  • I've never seen an aire-flo furnace, thank goodness. It looks like a gibson or ducane(who's condensers look exactly like aire-flo...the defrost boards are the same too)

  • @FilterChanger AireFlo must be a west coast thing. We have Ducane out here, too. No Gibsons. I'm sure they're all made under the Lennox umbrella of companies.

  • @FilterChanger aire flo and ducane take the same parts as far as i can tell. If they don't shake them selves to pieces... they seem to be okay. Don't order any new condenser fan blades though... get a LAU. The new ones are thinner than a beer can. If they're not damaged in shipping, a fly landing on a blade will put it out of balance.

  • @FilterChanger Yeah, I think Ducane and AireFlo are both subdivisions of Lennox. They are less expensive (read: CHEAP) options of the mother brand. Installers do need to be extra careful when handling the furnaces.

  • And there she is !!!

Was the valve on , I got in the habit of that soon as I uncrate !!!

Well SOB , now I know what hole is for !!!

    Great Video !!!

  • @fritzhvac Always check the gas valve. One of the first things I learned was to turn it on as soon as it was opened up. A small number of them are off when I check'em at start-up.

  • @FilterChanger yea I've never seen an aire- flo either, gibson i've worked on bryant/ goodman, lennox, trane, york and carrier. and i've been working in phoenix, AZ and chicago

  • @PutSome5tankOnIt I have never seen an AireFlo up here in this area of the Pacific Northwest. The dominant brands up here are Bryant (Carrier), branded Carrier, Lennox, and Trane. Even the new developments here usually have such brands, no Amanas, AireFlo, but occasionally I see a Goodman. Since I deal mostly in commercial design, I tend to only see stuff like McQuay, AAON, Innovent, and Trane/Carrier/Lennox commercial lines. York is just starting to get into this area. Good stuff there.

  • @mikie2501 When I did horizontal installs, I used to build my furnace stand from 2x6 lumber. It looked like a cross section of I-beam. No sag. Doors fit perfectly.

  • @dizziedallas Metal stands are the ticket. Most guys don't place them properly. The one under the blower compartment should be about 6" from the burner/blower separation. Lessens the chance of the furnace sagging.

  • @erd675 Some homeowners say, "I heard you up in the attic. What did you do?" I tell them I was convincing the furnace to cooperate with me.
