台灣每年屠宰大約3億5千萬隻雞,其中白肉雞與有色土雞約各佔一半。白肉雞以供應大量採買的消費者,如機關伙食團、大型宴會、學校、軍隊、餐廳、速食連鎖店為主。土雞則以­一般家庭消費為主,且消費者多是在傳統市場選購活雞後,由攤商當場以手工方式屠宰。屠宰方式未經人道致昏,即以利刃切割雞脖子放血,許多雞在尚未斷氣死亡前,就被丟入燙毛­池中;雞的糞尿、血水隨意排放,雞毛、雜碎等廢棄物也隨意丟棄,不僅違反動物福利,更造成環境污染,增加疫病傳播的機會。

  • These Chinese abuse their animals bigtime. But they also make the best tasting kung pao chicken...LOL. Me like :)
