Cherry Wainer if memory serves correctly was originally from South Africa. She was the organist for Lord Rockingham's XI, the house band for the English TV show Oh Boy! which aired 1958-59. See "Hoots Mon" for that band's biggest hit, number 1 in England and a big hit in Europe and might have done well in the States if it had a chance
