    I also noticed that... They seem to have approached this topic from a narrow-minded point of view, in which they only consider the verbal language and neglect instinctive body language and sign language on children.

  • Notice how they're using gestures. This is how humans started out. It's not speech dependent. Yes, it's goal directed behaviour. This is so disappointing that they focused on speech and didn't do a comparative analysis with a deaf person to show that language isn't speech. Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny, meaning, a child's development of language follows our species development of language.
