something must be done (photoshop face makeover, body image issues, media, transformation)

Something must be done is the result of a painting assignment about "something being done". It takes a look at my own insecurities as well as other woman and girls insecurites. These are derived from our societies saturation with overly sexualized women in the media, and generated standards as to who we should be. These are all false realities of what we can ever achieve. It is a long video, giving the sense to the viewer of frustration with the process, a desire for an end to the madness. The "music track" is all recorded by me, with layers of random sound and my piano over my personal confessions of insecurity throughout my life. The end result was a feeling that "Something Must be Done" to change all of this.
