Seal Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel (born 19 February 1963 in Paddington, London, United Kingdom) is an Nigerian English soul singer and songwriter. His name Olusegun means "God is victorious". Known professionally by his first name, Seal is known for his numerous international hits and his marriage to German model Heidi Klum.
Seal first met German model Heidi Klum in summer 2003—shortly after she announced her pregnancy and end of relationship with Italian Renault Formula One team director Flavio Briatore-- but they didn't connect until Jan 2004.
Seal proposed to Klum on 24 December 2004 at 7,000 ft altitude, in an igloo on a glacier he had built in Whistler, British Columbia. On 10 May 2005, the couple married on a beach in Mexico near Seal's home on Mexico's luxurious Costa Careyes.
Klum gave birth to Briatore's daughter, Helene Boshoven Klum (called Leni) on 5 May 2004 in New York City with Seal at her side. According to Klum, Briatore is not involved in Leni's life, and Klum has stated emphatically that "Seal is Leni's father". Seal is her only father figure, and he has praised Briatore for keeping his distance and not disrupting Leni's life [19].The couple have two sons together, Henry Günther Ademola Dashtu Samuel (b. 12 September 2005) and Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel (b. 22 November 2006). On Thursday April 16, 2009, Seal confirmed to the press and his audience at Radio City Music Hall that Klum is pregnant with their fourth child, a girl.
On June 11, 2009, Seal, on tour with his new album Soul, revealed, "It is nice to be in newspapers and magazines for something other than my marriage." He said his marriage may take away the attention, but doesn't detract from what he loves doing: making music.
Heidi Klum (German pronunciation: [ˈklʊm]; born June 1, 1973) is a German model, actress, television host, business woman, fashion designer, television producer, artist, and occasional singer. She is married to singer Seal.
Klum was the hostess of Project Runway and Germany's Next Topmodel, and is a Victoria's Secret Angel.
Klum married stylist Ric Pipino in 1997; the couple divorced in 2002. Following the divorce, she dated Flavio Briatore. In the autumn of 2003, Klum announced she was pregnant with Briatore's child. On the day she announced the pregnancy, Briatore was photographed kissing Fiona Swarovski, a jewelry heiress. Klum and Briatore split shortly thereafter. Klum gave birth to Briatore's daughter, Helene (Leni) Boshoven Klum in 2004 in New York City, New York. According to Klum, Briatore, her first daughter's biological father, is not involved in the child's life, and she has stated emphatically that "Seal is Leni's father."
In early 2004, while still pregnant, Klum began a relationship with musician Seal. Klum and Seal married on May 10, 2005, on a beach in Mexico. They have two children together so far, both boys, 2005 and 2006. They are expecting another child together, a girl due in October 2009. On hearing her family referred to as a "patchwork family", Klum said, "I'm not white, I'm a shade of brown," and added, "we're all different shades and we came together and we all love each other...it's actually kind of nice to have a 'patchwork family'."
In 2008, Klum became a naturalized American citizen.
