Very true! My '91 died at 120,000 peice of shit 3.0 was terrible, always fouling plugs, oil gelling problems, and of course the headgaskets. Eventually Toyota said they coudln't fix it and gave us $700 off our next Toyota. My next truck is for sure gonna be a pickup with a 22re, 22r, or 2.7 4cyl. The 3.4L V6 are great tho, but stay far away from the 3.0's

amen, 3pointslow suck, heavier and barely anymore power 22re's last forever and are reliable

Should be the 6.
I have a '91 4Runner that has the 6 cyl.
Toyota ditched the "SlowRunner" 4 cyl. in 1988 when the 6 cyl was available. They still made 4 cyl versions, but slow sales over the next 10 years had the 4 cyl. eliminated by 1999.

Haha chevy have to pride, let a 4 banger pull em out
Haha, that's funny seeing as the 22R-E was known for being incredibly reliable and seen as a toyota icon in many's eyes. The V6 they introduced was exactly the opposite, known as the 3.slow, a gas guzzling, headgasket blowing disappointment.

The 4 cyl is acctually round today but it has to be sepcially ordered and I know my 87 with the 4 cyl would walk right around both of you
