This is a gameplay video of an old project of mine that I created using the RPG Maker VX program. The project was first meant to test the capabilities of said program but it quickly turned into a more complex and intriguing storyline with interesting gameplay elements.

The project that started in late January 2007 was paused in Mid 2008 but picked up again in Mid 2009, a full year later. Currently, I'm continuing the story in the hope to finish it soon. Of course, there is no release date to be announced any time soon; to go from XNA C# coding back to RMVX RGSS coding is, well, getting used to again.

In the video, there are a few bugs that may (or may not) be spotted. Chances are, I am aware of those. There are several moments in the game where the story is rushed or seems a bit "weird" (such as suddenly wanting to meet the King and all that). This is being changed to reflect a more down-to-earth approach.

Anyway, long story short, I hope you'll enjoy this gameplay video. For those who want to playtest this game for themselves, a link is provided near the bottom. I welcome comments and especially the critique amongst them. A part 4 for this gameplay video may see the light soon (when I have time). Enjoy!

Here is the webpage where one can download the game. The website is old, outdated and unfinished from way back in 2007 but at least there's some content to it;

  • Damn, looking at this video makes me wanna get into game making again. Then I remember that I'll just end up abandoning the project, wasting hours of effort for no result, and don't bother. :P

    I know what you mean about adjusting to RGSS(2) after using a statically typed language like C# for a long time. Nevertheless, the game looks good; it's got well written dialogue and nice music. Are still working on it?

  • @Datriot Hey, Datriot. To answer your question; no, I am currently not working on it anymore. I was supposed to (which is why these videos were made) but I got a new job at a gamdevelopment company and I didn't have time anymore. However, I can only say it's currently "on-hold" until I have time again. I'll finish it someday. :)

  • oh shi- hurry up with it, i wanna see more :D

  • All in good time, my friend. :)
