Since 2002, the former prayer area and adjoining community hall have been used for the purposes of evening Madrasah, prayer overflow space and other community activities.
This section of the building has ran into a state of disrepair now requiring urgent remedial works, such as installation of a new roof, replacement of windows, rewiring, installation of heating system, plasterwork etc. This work will require a complete overhaul of this part of the building.
The masjid has decided to embark on a project to to develop the area for the purposes of a Muslim secondary school.
The proposed school will comprise of:
10 classrooms accommodating 200 pupils Library IT Suite/Laboratory Admin Offices Staff Room Medical Room Wash Room Facilities Servery Assembly Hall
The school capacity will be 200 pupils and staff will consist of 10 teachers, a headteacher, an admin office and a caretaker.
All ground floor areas will be designed to be multi use to enable the space to be used for improved overspill prayer facilities and other community activites outside of school times.
