with the sugar farm you dont need the top row of pistons only the one below it. if the top or middle of a sugar cane plant is destroyed, the rest will also be destroyed

@tommy1234586 originally they began as mods starting in 1.3 (i think i could easily be wrong) and notch saw the mod and implemented his own version of pistons into the game in 1.7
