  • If you're talking about the segment at 0:35, it is also a part of Roland Petit's ballet, called Proust ou les Intermitences du Coeur, based on Marcel Proust's novel.

  • The music that starts 25 seconds in is the Overture to Rienzi, by Wagner. You can find it on Spotify.

I have a different and rather old (early-to-mid 80s, I think) version of this whole ballet, with dancing by Maya Plisetskaya and narration by Jeremy Irons. Will post it on Youtube when I get a chance.

  • Could someone PLEASE tell me what the ballet is called with the white background and all you see is are the bodies in black? It is the picture of the video when you click it. I saw it on tv. It is by Marcel Proust but i cannot find the video anywhere. Please help!!!

  • I've since purchased this DVD. A wonderful ballet. The segment with the Danse Profane is especially beautiful.

  • Thank you. I was able to find this out and I have since purchased a recording of the complete danse sacred and profane. I like the profane better ;-)

  • It's the danse profane, by Clade Debussy (You can find live perfomances of it on YouTube). It then turns into something not by Debussy.

  • mercy !

  • una maravilla, Oh les jeunes filles en fleurs...Marcel tu as raison " l'art est le vrai jugement dernier.. tout est magnifique, Bravooooo!

  • Why so many snippets instead of one continuous piece?

  • Can someone name that lovely waltz that starts 25 seconds into this video? Thank you!
