One of the important concepts behind the JudeoChristian is utter bullshit when you take the pickup-truck of logic and park it on God's face... because GOD + Free WIll = BULLSHIT

  • *steals your JTHM tee shirt* .. or i could just ask where you got it please nate ?

  • Convention

  • blunty ur on the wrong here lets say god does exist and he has given us freewill ..... should he not punish the ones who choose to do wrong ... the law says dont go over 40k/h arnd schools ... but we have the freewill to speed if we wished to ... so if we do speed ... should we be punished the answer is yes freedom or freewill is good when its given to us by the authority(god) but some people will misuse it so they deserve punishment .

  • You, like so many here are trying to compare a man made legal system designed to keep us safe cooperative (for the most part) directly with what is supposedly the very nature of our existance... are you an idiot, can you really not see the difference and the utter stupidity of trying to compare the two?

  • ok maybe bad example but u missed the point i was trying to make ... god gave us freewill we choose wat to do and who to love ... now lets say we choose to do the wrong thing watever it was shouldnt there be consequences shouldnt he punish us for doing the wrong thing or wat he just gave us freewill and we do watever we want

  • In essence you are indeed agreeing with me... but what you're failing to understand here is that with the threat of consequences a choice cannot truly be considered free, to go back to your own flawed metaphor, we are not "free" to break the law, we CAN do it, but we are not considered to be freely ALLOWED to do so. Please tell me you comprehend because I can't dumb this down any more. the POINT here is that "god given free will" is an oxymoron that cannot be reconciled.

  • yea i went to church camp last year and we talked alot about believing and if yuo dont what will happen. but really like you said its balckmail. because we have free will but if we dont believe we will burn in hell? ok

  • i disagree actually, the free will is meaningful because it has consequences, it would be meaningless if free will offered little to no consequences, but one important part of the Christian philosophy you are forgetting is that apparently, we're all evil, and god will save us, and purgatory is what happens to everybody who does not submit themselves to gods power... etc etc

  • rubber dickhammer, lol. Anyway, along the lines of your point, I find it amusing that a god with infinite power, would get upset because one guy here and there didn't believe in him. As a matter of fact, this pisses him off so much, he's gonna teach you a lesson, and send you to eternal damnation! With a whole universe to preside over, why would a god really give a shit that some random dumb humans didn't believe in him. Sounds a little egotistical to me. And some insecurity issues at hand.

  • But as Blunty said it is NOT free will if your basically being forced to do something and you don't have a proper choice. It's not choice if you suffer a terrible consequence by not choosing believe in it.

  • So your physical body has free will and no consequences... yet your spirit body still suffers? Both are undoubtedly parts of you that make a whole so no matter how you spin it at the end of the day you are still punished for not believing in god. ergo you don't really have a choice in not believing in god. Unless you don't mind eternal damnation...

  • Way to hit the nail on the head, Blunty.

Don't let those Christians that think god is nothing but good pull ya down.

And I repsect those who do believe in christianity that don't take the time to start a flame war with Blunty and keeping an open mind.

  • I was going to post something based on the binary nature of the choice offered by religion but as I wrote it I realised that another of " God's" offers is a hollow gesture. The gift of eternal life to those that accept Jesus. All of us get it either way, we just get a choice of weather we spend it in eternal bliss or torment. Cheers dude. It's like someone wrapping up something you own and giving it to you as a birthday present. Only with more burning if you don't like him.

  • well said

  • I thought about it, I want to respond with an example: a man is shot and bleeding to death, you have the "free will" to help the man, but if you don't he'll die. As the bible simply says : the person that doesn't chose for me isn't going to be saved. as a consequence you'll go to hell. God isn't forcing you to go to hell(he wants to save you) but if you don't chose(just like not helping the man) it's a sad consequence.

You give an interesting view but from the wrong side i personally think.

  • I give you the nod of approval blunty, agree completely with your video. One argument that I have heard before that paints God in a strange light is in regards to fossils. There are those who claim God placed these fossils on earth as a test of our faith. So basically God is a prankster...and now also a blackmailer.
