December 22, 1994 -- first passenger shuttle through the tunnel
March 23, 1999 -- Channel Tunnel recognised as the greatest engineering achievement of the 20th Century
May 18, 2009 - Eurotunnel awarded Carbon Trust Standard

Since it opened more than 250 million passengers have enjoyed travelling from Folkstone to Calais by the speed and comfort of the tunnel.
