Lima Triumphante sings Hanacpachap cussicuinin

Hanacpachap cussicuinin is the first poliphony to be composed and published in a native language in the New World,in the book "Ritual Formulario e Institución de Curas" (Lima: 1631), by the Franciscan priest Juan Pérez Bocanegra, expert in Andean languages, ex singer at the Cathedral in Cusco and priest at Andahuaylillas. He recommended this hymn in Quechua to be sung to the Virgin during processions as people entered the church.
Here we can hear the piece as sung by Lima Triumphante, Peruvian baroque choir and music ensemble, conducted by Jose Quezada Macchiavello in Lima, Peru.

@persinort En (1830) El frances Prosper Merimée escribe La Carroza del Santo Sacramento,comedia sobre el poder político y religioso en la Lima del siglo XVIII publicado en europa. Jacques Offenbach compuso una opereta en tres actos de" La Périchole", (1868) aca en youtube hay varias versiones en varias operas europeas buscala como -offenbach,la perichole.pero yo prefiero la version de Teresa Berganza La perichole.Se realizaron varias peliculas con el nombre The bridge of San Luis Rey

Gracias por compartir, sin embargo creo que cometes un error en la descripcion del video ya que no es la primer obra polifonica del Nuevo Mundo, en una lengua nativa. En la Nueva España se tienen composiciones en Nahuatl del siglo XVI compuestas por Hernando Franco 1532-1585, obras como Sancta Maria in ilhuicac, Dios Itlaconantzine, y algunas otras.

I love everything about this piece. I too sang this at Disney Hall last year and it was the most amazing sensation <3 This is by far the greatest choral piece I've ever sang.
