@ATSF1927 its great to meet another trucker that drove trucks back in the good ole days, I drove a 1966 Peterbilt 351, people like you bring back memories to the good ole days

I use to drive an old 1947 Diamond-T for ATSF in 1947 and 1948. These truck pictures bring a lot of memories.

Love it....although I don't think any of these trucks went very fast!

its kinda funny how far we have come in trucking my grandpa told me of rebilding trucks where they broke down stuff like top ends transmissions and rear ends well i blew a heater hose about 2 hours west of edmonton last spring so the big trucking company i was with called a half million dollar tow truck to pull it back to the city i havnt set a brake in 2 years half the new drivers dont even check the oil those old guys where real men crapy heaters and air condioning ????lol

i remember going with my daddy on a west coast run once... he stopped in El Paso and bought a 200 pound block of ice and put it in on the floor of the passenger side and by opening the floor vent on that side it blew cool air through the truck all the way to the california line before it was all melted ...I thought he was SO smart ...I later found out that all those old west coast turnaround drivers did that...the cool air helped them stay awake on the long trip...

Many thanks that took me back 40 years, i had lost the song a long time ago.
The pictures are superb.
I cant go back now to Lorry Driven, we tended to call them Wagons not Trucks.

Great job and perfect song to put with it! I haven't heard that in years. Thanks for posting!
Name of the song is simply --- "HOW FAST THEM TRUCKS WILL GO".

Yea, lil bit different these days, but I'd like to have seen it in person back then.

Just can't imagine what it would have been like driving those old semis.
