Groundsquirrels had delighted the children of the Luther Academy of the Rockies Kids Program, and the kids' snack crumbs had delighted the family of groundsquirrels. While I was playing dulcimer, I was astonished as a blacktail weasel at the foot of Mt. Meeker that took every member of the groundsquirrel clan. I knew I would need to break the news about the circle of life the next morning to the children. A tune commemorating the end of the groundsquirrel clan seemed like the only appropriate way to memorialize them. Steve Eulberg plays his Mike Clemmer mountain dulcimer (with a doubled bass string) to demonstrate this tune.
