1985 Honda Elite 250 Scooter Tow Winch For Sale.

This package is a very nice setup. I fully restored both the winch and the trailer that it is mounted on. I completely disassembled both the scooter and the trailer and completely rebuilt both.

The trailer was stripped to the bare frame and completely re-welded by a professional welding shop. I replaced the leaf springs and shackles. I installed new bearings in the axile. Installed new rims and tires. Rewired the trailer from front to back. Installed all new lights and added clearance lights across the back. Painted the frame and installed a new pressure treated deck. I built a mount on the trailer for a older style 50cc mini bike. You set the mini bikes wheels into the shaped wheel mounts and strap the bike down to brackets on the mount. The mini bike doesnt come with the package but mini bikes come in very handy for line retrieval to launch and such.

The scooter was removed from the trailer, all the panels were removed from the scooter, repaired and professionally painted. The bike itself was taken to a Honda bike shop and brought up to top mechanical condition including the carburetor, clutch and rear brakes. The bike was reassembled and I replaced missing body parts, re-upholstered the seat and even replaced the rubber foot pads. I had a professional body trim applied on the new paint job. This is a very solid scooter mechanically and looks like it brand new!

I rebuilt the entire tension gauge system. I replaced the hydraulic cylinder that measures the tension, replaced all the bearings in all the pulleys and replaced the pulleys themselves. I replaced all the line guides with professional built, custom made line guides from top grade stainless steel. I calibrated the tension system to measure the actual line tension, not just the hydraulic pressure and display it in lbs of force. I ordered a large dial face gauge from the manufacturer with custom graphics inside the sealed gauge displaying the actual line tension in lbs force. The large dial face gives big deflections to show the more subtle tension changes. I bought a large in-line profession scale to check the calibration of the tension system in order to verify my design. Each year before the season began I would re-check the calibration of the tension system against the scales. It is accurate and hasnt changed calibration since I built it in 2004.

The drum is made from heavy steel and welded to the original steel rim. It easily holds 4000' plus of line and currently has 3000' on it. The line is older and should be replaced but we have been using it with no problems at all. This is a proven system with years of maintenance free towing for someone who wants to get into the towing of PG & HG.

It will tow PG & HG and tandem PG as well. It can tow tandem HG but you are not going to get very high tows like you will with solo PG & HG. Solo PG & HG, in light conditions you can expect to get 600' plus and with a nice safe headwind you can easily climb to 1500'. Aggressive tows could get higher but as with any tows, safety should come before altitude gain.

I am asking $3500 CAD. I will deliver it, for the cost of gas and a night in a motel, to any area within a one-way days drive of the East coast of Canada. This would take in Central Canada and the New England States. If you are further away I will still do the days drive and meet you there.

I have pictures available to any perspective buyer.
