@ResusNachtfalter Where do you live? I'm in Hong Kong and I found an instructor. The National Piping Centre's beginner instruction book can be ordered online and it's quite good.

I don't suppose anyone cares but the Scots in the first world war were apparently nicknamed the "devils in skirts" I can see why. Just imagine, you've been sat in a trench none stop shelling then nothing. Then through the mist all you hear is the whiney drone of the bagpipes and the tinny echo of the snare and knowing exactly what's coming, men braver than sanely possible emerge out of the vail swords drawn bayonets fixed. I would find that terrifying.

Note: This essay is the translation of my previous comment, because I realized that my language may not be translated automatically. Sorry for the translation, is a translation automatic of the Spanish, which I translated from my language: Galician, because there is no support for my language on the internet

This music also the touch in my village feast days, I don't need to go to Ireland or Scotland to listen in live. Esla luck that I have. Non only Ireland and Scotland are the heirs of the Celtic European culture, although they are the most representative at the global level.
this make me proud not to be italian

awesomely beautiful, tho I am not Irish nor Scottish I really appreciate the sound of bagpipes, actually I got myself a practice chanter to learn it, only problem is that we do not have instructor for that in here... so yeah, I am by myself and good ol'friend internet. Anyway, one day I will get to know Scotland and all that amazing culture!
