  • Class act... "Niagra", "From the Bottom of the Bottle", "Citizen Kane", "Hush, Hush..." it goes on and on. Why isn't this guy on a par with Gary Cooper or Spencer Tracy?

  • My favorite movie of Koseph Cotten are "The Third Man" and "Shadow of a Doubt" He was a very underrated actor. Hitchcock loved him.

  • What a great actor! I loved him in Gaslight. It's funny, he was great in many films where he wasn't necessarily the leading man but still stole the show.

  • The only movie I have ever seen Joseph Cotten in is "Niagara" (1953), with the sexy Marilyn Monroe and the adoring Jean Peters. If you've seen the movie, wouldn't you like to have been Joseph... being wrapped up in the bed with Marilyn and helping a wet Jean to safety. He was a lucky man!!!!

  • @thesocialpet Great movie "Gaslight".

  • Liked him also, bit later early sixties in Hush hush Sweet Charlotte with Davis

& De Havilland quite a thriller.

  • He was in "Gaslight" and was fabulous. Very handsome!

  • I greatly admire Joseph Cotten in all his films and I suppose my bestest favorites are "Love Letters" and "Portrait of Jennie", both with Jennifer Jones. They are classics.

  • O bom Joe Cotten foi ótimo também no "Duel in the Sun" ao lado de Greck Peck e Jennifer Jones e no filmes, "Niagara" e Sombra de uma dúvida.

  • the audience loved him :)

  • @ekocentric

Howdy once more, ekocentric! I'm fine...hope you too are hunkey dorey, my friend! Since you're a fan of Mr Cotten's you MUST be a person of refinement & good taste. And yes, I'd read somewhere years ago that he came from a rich family & had an Ivy Leauge education. And I totally agree he was naturally suave...it just oozed our of every pore! MANY thanks for your usual enlightening, thoughtful & intriguing comment! :-)

  • Joseph Cotten is one of the best American Actor of all Time.
