A quickie flight at Long Reef, Collaroy, NSW on a sunny Sunday afternoon. This day defied the predictions, was meant to be NE most of the day but didnt' come on until late so I raced to the site and quickly got into the air. Looking forward to a good SE to have my first flight in the Sport 2, so today is the Fun190. There were no white caps and was a bit northerly so not very lifty. The wind peaked just I launched and needed to be vigilant of the other pilots doing launch/landing circuits, when it dropped I made a run for landing zone, just making the boat ramp. But a good launch and landing, and though short flight every flight is a good flight and this is a beautiful site for sure:-)

  • like that flight!

  • @riverbrue yep...it was a great afternoon for a flight...it is a cool little site :-)

  • Nice as always Mr. Andrew.

  • @1DuneRat thanks DuneRat, a belly scraping boat ramp touchdown :-)

  • Awesome bit of footage as always mate despite comments about exposure.

    Keep em coming :-)

  • @Davospace1 thanks Davo - you will see BigFred tossing his Siting 3 glider around under me as I was having my first flight at Stanwell in the Sports2 155 (next video) - this day was in the floater. The GoPro works best in full overhead sun in green/blue colour range, with its wide angle it captures a LOT of light onto its small digital sensor. Though I'm no expert, a low air time pilot in comparison I have fun and glad you enjoyed it :-)

  • @bigfred190 No probs mate. I'm still very much a beginner and aiming to be as good as Mr Andrew one day. :-)

  • @Davospace1 In reference to your comment. I was asking a question about Andrew's exposure settings for my own knowledge, not critiquing the quality of his film. regards.

  • @bigfred190 hey Fred - no exposure setting and the little GoPro struggled a bit as a lot of the time it was getting a lens full of the setting sun. It was just a bit too light on this day for Long Reef and a bit less to the north would have made it easier and I can understand that Hill60 wouldn't have given much lift when it was such a light day. How is the whale migration looking compared to previous years? It is a great place to live! cu at Stanwell on Thurs hopefully :-)

  • Did you adjust the exposure setting on the camera for the late afternoon light Andrew? I had a sleddie at hill 60 & did a spot of whale watching.
