I have been hunting Agates this year "09" and have found a few nice ones. I live in the cities and always looking for some new places close by. Anyone have any suggestions? My kids love this too. Thanks

How much fun that must be! I have passed over so many of those in gravel lots and knew they were special, but couldn't justify toting more pretty gravel in my suitcase. When going through airport check-in, the agent asked "what do you have in here, rocks?" and I said "Yes!" That was in the days before xrays and TSA. Anyway, besides sifting through imported lots of gravel, do you know of any good hunting opportunities in the Land of Limestone (Florida)? Thanks, and best wishes, Sharon

@shasha2727 If I were in Florida right now, I'd be fishing :) There are probably some kinda cool rocks there but maybe you should check the beaches for goodies.

Hey nice finds! Do you own or work at that pit, or did you get permission? I've never found anything that big. I've accumulated about 20 lbs of 0-5 oz agates. I've been agate hunting since March of this year, and I've really developed a passion for these beautiful gems. I live in central MN. Are there any pits open to the public or even just pits that charge admission?

I have permission. All you can do is ask...its getting tougher tho.
